Ohhhhhh! He's beautiful, and positively oozes attitude! I've been trying to get a picture of a more mature Draco in my mind, and failing; now this one is firmly lodged in my mind, and I like it! I'd pictured his eyes greyer, and the shadow across his right cheek (left side of the picture) distracts a bit from the purity of his features, but I still LOVE this image! Gorgeous!
Thank you so much for the wonderful comments and for the fav! I really appreciate it! I just want you to know that this is not how the original drawing looks. The original is not colorized-that was done by a friend of mine and I thought he looked so good I posted that version here. This is what the original looks like: [link]
You're welcome! I like commenting....it keeps me thinking critically about art, and, hey, if people get good feedback about stuff I like, they'll do more of it! =^.^= I realize your friend colored it; I just wasn't sure, aside from the obvious, what was your shading and what her coloring. You do lovely work.
Hmm. its a great drawing/painting, but it doesn't scream DRACO to me, but everyone has different imaginations, and since Draco is my favourite character i have a vivid image of him in my mind. I keep meaning to draw him, but I find drawing people so difficult, but since doing selfportrait from my GCSE art mock i have more confidence in drawing people. So i will give it a go soon.
Thanks! I originally thought of him for Cassandra Claire's "Draco Veritas" but he came out too mature looking (more late 20's than late teens) so he was adopted for Carol Estes' fanfic "A Sirius Change" where he is supposed to be in his late 20's.
P.S. Thanks for the friends and fav! I really appreciate it!
No problem about the fav+ and the devwatch+; you have amazing skills with traditional media. Never read Estes' fanfic; I am thinking that I should, just to see if the character portrayal matches the artwork. Still in the process of reading DV though, and you're right, he is too serious looking for Cassandra's Draco. Great artwork anyway, no matter what the inspiration was.
I know how you feel. Our family computer-(the one I'm using)- is as ancient as hell. It often freezes up and has to be restarted and depsite a cable modem is extremely slow If you can build your own-you certainly have my admirtation! *lol* Good Luck!
Yes, indeed. I have to admit that I'm guilty of embellishing the canon characters to please the fanfiction audience from time to time. But that's why I don't draw much for fanfiction. I prefer the canon characters and those I draw for my own benefit
Thanks! Yes, I think you're right-he could very well be a young Lucius. That's the one good thing about drawing the Malfoy men. If I draw Draco a bit too old looking for canon, I could always pass him off as his father!
