Oh,my dear Charlie, the forgotten brother! Really good job you did there,I can totally imagine him like this. He's one of my favourite characters, together with George and Fred, and followed by Aberforth ;D ♥
Really good, who did you use for reference? Cause i saw another guy represented as Charlie Weasley that looks almost exactly like this guy, was he a guy you referenced for him or is it just a surprising coincidence? Just thought i might point that out and ask!
I don't know the name of the model but I reference the photo of him from a New York Times ad from around 2001 when I drew him. Do you have a link to the other Charlie drawing? I'd be interested in seeing it.
I luff Charlie - ever since the first book where we learned he worked with DRAGONS, BABY; DRAGONS!!! and when he helped Hagrid out by arranging transport for Norbert in the dead of night. Then we met him in the fourth book and WOW!! I imagined him all sweet and outdoorsy and delicious - and that's what I see in your sketch! *GlompTackles him and steals him away*
Yay! It's Charlie!
Recently coming into a new appreciation of the two eldest Weasleys (being as I just finished GoF and OotP for the first time in a marathon read of a week and a half, and yes, I sadly got on the Harry Potter bandwagon a wee bit late), you can't imagine how wonderful I think this piece is.
Honestly, I love your portrayal of Charlie, and it's great to see someone attempt to draw a secondary character that we, the audience, know so little about. Not exactly how I myself imagined him (though, now that I think about it, I really don't remember how I imagined him), but now I can't see him anyway but this.
For me, this image conjures up a sweet, well-mannered, rather quite/shy guy who, despite appearances, isn't afraid to have a little, albeit dangerous, fun. My kind of character (le sigh, where are all the Charlie Weasleys of the world?).
I love this pic, and I would love to see more of Charlie (and Bill and Percy, even if he was a bit of a git in the 5th book) in your gallery.
Now that I have my none-too-subtle suggestion out of the way, I would just like to say I love all your Harry Potter fanart, and you're one of the best fan-artists I've seen. I hope you continue doing fanart for the books. Again, this is wonderful!
Oh, and I think you did a wonderful job on drawing short hair. I find myself jinxed in that area more often than not.
Ah, you're welcome (again ^_^) While it's a little sad that there might not be any new Weasley pieces around your gallery, I can understand. It's just so rare to see any drawings of those three Weasleys (I think I've seen ones of Bill the most), that I had to suggest. And I agree, I hope there's a lot more of Bill and Charlie in 6 and 7. I have a feeling there will be *crosses fingers hopefully*. I'm also hoping Percy's very disapproving behavior in OotP is explained fully, and that he isn't the git he seems to be.
And speaking of Percy, I really like your drawing of him (even though I didn't leave a comment, how bad of me), too. He looks a bit older than cannon age, but I would think alienating your entire family and then finding out you did so for less of a reason than you thought would be tough on anyone. And I've always imagined Percy looking older than his years. He, in the drawing, also reminds me of someone from something, but I can't for the life of me place where....
Wow, what can I say but Thank You!! (again!) I don't know when or if I'll get around to drawing any new portraits of the Weasleys (well....maybe Ron) but I thank you for your suggestions. I love them all (Percy a little less so since book 5), they're all such wonderful characters. I hope we get to see more of Bill and Charlie in the next 2 books.
I love this drawing! You're so talented. The depth in his eyes draws me in and I want to have a conversation with him. You have quite a gift. I'm very very happy that I stumbled upon your site. Please do more fantastic work! I love Harry Potter and I am an INSANE LOTR fan, but I was amazed when I looked at your pictures of Moody and Umbridge- they fit my mental image perfectly. Congratulations on work well done.
Thank you so very much for your wonderful comment! It's truly appreciated I'm kind of at a lull right now drawing wise-this summer has been very hectic for me. I'm hoping that once school starts and all my kids are back in school I might actually get some new pictures up!
